Frequently Asked Questions

How do I start the process?

You can start the process of counselling by emailing me at jolenebloomfieldtherapy@gmail.com. Once I get in touch with you we will set up an intake session. Together we will discuss what brings you to counselling and what your personal goals are. I will also set you up with a JANE account (the app software the Liminal Space uses) so you can set up a profile to receive appointment reminders, receipts, etc.

What can I expect during counselling sessions?

You can expect a very safe, calm, and relaxed environment. Working together we will find a pace of therapy that meets your needs. I bring in therapeutic modalities, such as Internal Family Systems, Hypnotherapy, Satir Neuroscience and the Sandtray, Somatic Therapies, and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy. The goal of counselling is to learn how our nervous systems work, how it feels to be regulated (in the green zone) and how to move into this zone when we need to. Through talk therapy, somatic therapy, art, play, and/or metaphor in the sand tray you can experience and feel the different zones of regulation while experiencing co-regulation. This will help you (or your child) to build the skills needed to process difficult material, self-regulate and be more resilient in difficult or challenging situations.

Can I use my extended health/medical coverage?

Some extended medical plans will cover the cost of counselling with me. My title is: Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) so you may first want to look into what your extended medical plan covers before booking with me. My RCC # is 18059
